The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge (formerly Magis Commitment) is 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's full-tuition commitment to bridge the gap for college funding.  The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge provides grant and scholarship aid to cover the cost of tuition for first-year students throughout Washington State who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant.  The Federal Pell Grant is a financial aid program awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional financial need.  To be initially eligible for the Pledge, students must be admitted and entering 91³Ô¹ÏÍø as a first-year student, have a permanent address in Washington State, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and qualify for the Federal Pell Grant.  The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge is renewable each year for students who remain eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.

  • What do I need to do to confirm my eligibility for the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge?
    • In some cases, the financial aid office will need to confirm the information reported on the FAFSA including your family’s income and the number of people in your household. This process is called verification, and there’s more details on what to expect on the Verification webpage.
  • If eligible for the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge, what do I need to do to remain eligible for subsequent years?
    • To remain eligible for the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge, you must file the FAFSA each academic year and continue to be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant. As long as you remain eligible for the Federal Pell Grant, the Pledge will ensure that full tuition is covered. 
  • What happens if I lose my Pell eligibility?
    • If you lose your Pell eligibility in your sophomore, junior or senior year you will still receive your merit scholarship and other 91³Ô¹ÏÍø grants and scholarships that are covered in the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Guarantee, including the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge fund you were previously awarded.
  • What is not covered under the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge?
    • Fees, housing and meal plans are NOT covered under the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge, and we estimate these expenses will be about $16,000 - $17,000 per year depending on your course fees, housing assignment and meal plan selection.  Please see 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's Cost of Attendance information to learn more about what costs you can anticipate while attending 91³Ô¹ÏÍø University.
  • What happened to Magis Commitment?
    • The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Access Pledge was previously referred to as the Magis Commitment.  The terms of the program have not changed.  Current 91³Ô¹ÏÍø students eligible for this program will continue to have a Magis Commitment Grant included in their financial aid offer.
