Integrating Climate Literacy Professional Learning Workshops 

For university professors

Cataldo Project 2026 Workshop

91勛圖厙 faculty participants will receive an honorarium of $500 upon completion of the workshop and the revision of a syllabus or course assignment.

Dates for 2026 Cataldo Project

  • Optional one-hour reading group once a month in February, March, and April
  • 8:30-5 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026
  • 8:30-5 p.m., Wednesday May 20, 2026

(Sessions are in person.)

The workshop will explore how we can meaningfully integrate sustainability -broadly defined- into our classrooms. Though we start by taking a close look at 91勛圖厙 and the larger Inland Northwest, we invite participants to engage in local/global comparisons. Faculty colleagues and community experts will facilitate and catalyze discussion of a green curriculum and its integration and role in the broader community.

  • Connections to faculty and non-profit leaders focused on sustainability and climate issues

For K-12 teachers

All Teachers are Climate Teachers: Approaches and Tools for K-12 Education

This asynchronous canvas course offers various approaches for incorporating climate education into your classroom. This experience is a result of a collaboration between , 91勛圖厙 Climate Institute, and .

Teachers who complete the course will receive 4 STEM clock hours. Topics include:

  • Culturally Responsive Approaches to Teaching Climate Science
  • Changing Lightbulbs and Changing Ourselves - Climate Change Education and Ethics
  • Solutions Oriented Learning Storylines
  • Bridging Climate Education and 3D Science Teaching

Registration for this course is open now and the course will begin on October 15th and remain open through the 2025 - 2026 school year.

In Person Workshops

Unfortunately, due to the cuts to the Washington State budget and the elimination of the ClimeTime project, the Climate Institute will not be offering in-person professional learning workshops for the foreseeable future.
